Bifurcations and coexistence of attractors for a nonmonotonic
sequential assosiative memory model with analogue neurons
Keyword: associative memory, analogue neuron, chaos, nonmonotonic unit, bifurcation diagram
Abstract:
In a nonmonotonic associative memory model, it is important to
analyze its dynamics, since chaotic behaviors can be observed in the
dynamics. The dynamical behavior has been analyzed for a nonmonotonic
sequential associative memory model, and for both an absolute zero
temperature model and a finite temperature model with binary neurons,
the bifurcation diagrams have also been analyzed. However, those for
analogue neurons have not been analyzed yet. The output function for
the binary neurons model takes $\pm1$, whereas one for the analogue
neurons model takes continuous value in the interval (-1:1).
Therefore, the dynamical behaviors for the analogue neurons
may differ from those for the binary neurons. In this paper, we
analyzed the nonmonotonic sequential associative memory model with the
analogue neurons. In the analogue neurons model, quasi-period or
chaotic attractors are generated around a fix point corresponding to
memory states as with the cases of the binary neurons model. We
construct bifurcation diagrams for the analogue neurons model, and
analyze disappearance and occurrence of attractors in two-parameters
space. In the parameters space where attractors coexist, we also
analyze the basins of attractions and show that they have complex
structure.
